Alabama Vs. WVU: Another Chance For Tide To Recruit In Georgia

The people running the Chick-FIl-A kickoff game have to be grinning like crazy with the news that Alabama will return to the Georgia Dome in 2014 to square off against West Virginia.

Not only has Alabama found another team to play that recruits at a good -- but not elite -- level, it also gets more exposure in the state. And that means recruiting.

While every recruit can see the game broadcast nationally, regardless of location, it’s the pre-game hype that really matters. The Chick-Fil-A folks will market the heck out of the game throughout Atlanta and the state, and that gives even more exposure to the Crimson Tide in a state that has treated Saban And Co. quite well over the last few years.

How well?

In the 2009 class, Bama pulled five commitments from the state. 2010 saw another five Peach State recruits head to Tuscaloosa. The 2011 class sent just two, but the 2012 class brought in an incredible eight kids from Georgia. And 2013 is shaping up to be another good crop of Georgia recruits for the Tide.
