Ole Miss Lands Massive DT Recruit Herbert Moore

If Moore continues to reshape his body, he could be a steak for the Rebels.

Herbert Moore, a huge defensive tackle recruit out of Memphis (Tenn.) East High School, committed to Ole Miss Sunday night. Moore held offers from Clemson, Illinois, Kentucky, North Carolina, Purdue and Vanderbilt. He told 247sports that he committed to Ole Miss over Oregon, but it is believed that he did not hold an offer from the Ducks. Regardless, Moore is a consensus three-star recruit. He cited the connections with the coaching staff for his commitment.

Moore is a very big kid at 6’1 and 325 pounds. But he used to be considerably bigger, and as he continues to lose weight and get in shape, more of his ability will shine through. As it is, Moore flashes some quickness and a lot of power. He’s not exceptionally long, so continuing to reshape his body will be crucial because it will allow him to attack the half-man and penetrate with better quickness.

Ole Miss sits at 10 commitments in the class of 2013.
