Speedy 4-star RB Green stays close to home at FSU


The 5’10 Green runs a 4.42 40, speed that’s made him an elite prospect. He’s considered the No. 3 running back in the nation by both Rivals and ESPN, and is a consensus four-star recruit. When SB Nation recruiting analyst Bud Elliott wrote up the running back’s commitment for Seminoles blog Tomahawk Nation, he gushed about Green’s effortless talent:
As for his strength, Eliott wrote that it needs work, but also quoted another recruiting writer who heard a story about Green breaking a running back’s ribs while playing cornerback in practice.

Many one of the state’s top prospects will arrive for the Thursday portion of the Jimbo Fisher Football Camp. But one recruit made sure to be there for every minute: Ryan Green of St. Pete (Fla.) Catholic. Green, one of the top running back recruits in the nation, wanted to be sure to be there to support everyone else. “I wanted to be here to support my teammates,” Green said. Even though he came out with a large group, Green elected to not work out in the heat. He plans to work out tomorrow instead.
The 5’10, 190 pound running back has been to Tallahassee more times than he can count. “Oh man, I don’t even know. A bunch of times. I love it up here,” Green said when asked about his previous trips to Florida State.
