TE Prospect Christian Morgan Set To Commit Tuesday

Following a trip to Tallahassee last weekend to take in the Florida State campus and meet with the Seminole coaching staff, 2013 Plano (TX) Prestonwood Christian tight end Christian Morgan decided on Thursday that he has all the necessary information to make his commitment.

Morgan announced the date, location, and time of his decision via Twitter:

The 6-5, 245-pound tight end who also plays defensive end for Prestonwood had narrowed his list down to four schools in early June -- Arkansas, Baylor, Florida State, and Ole Miss.

As Morgan indicated to SBNation’s Bud Elliott recently, he enjoyed the trip to Florida and likes the FSU offense:

They are a pro-style offense and play multiple tight ends. I like that they get you NFL ready and will play their tight ends both with their hand in the dirt (as an in-line tight end) and move them around (as a flexed tight end).

As a prospect who projects as a blocking tight end first and foremost at the next level, Morgan isn’t turned off by the pass-happy reputation of the Baylor offense:

It matters, but it’s not huge. Baylor runs a spread, but coach Briles said he uses what they have. He said if I ball out they’ll get me the ball a lot

For some prospects, proximity can be a major factor, but Morgan said that will not be the case in his recruitment, likely a major reason why three of his final four schools are beyond the borders of Texas.

Where will Morgan end up? He wasn’t willing to tip his hand during the interview with SBNation, but fans of those four schools won’t have to wait long to find out his decision.
