LaVon Coleman, a bruising running back recruit, committed to the Washington Huskies Friday at the conclusion of Washington's summer football camp. Coleman stars for Lompoc (Calif.) High School. He is one of the top 40 running backs nationally according to a consensus of the four major scouting services. Coleman holds offers from Washington, Arizona, Boise State, UCLA, Utah and Washington State, among others.
LaVon Coleman Commits To Washington Huskies
Washington lands a commitment from a bruising back.

Athletically, Coleman profiles as a power back. At 5’10 and 210 pounds, he is a capable of grinding out tough yards when he is called upon to do so. He does not have the shiftiness to elude defenders or the speed to outrun them. As one would expect with his build, however, he is quite difficult to tackle and also displays surprising vision.
Greg Biggins of the Scout network was the first to report on Coleman’s commitment.
