    Tahaan Goodman headed to UCLA

    Soobum Im-USA TODAY Sports

Here is the story of Goodman’s commitment to UCLA via Bruins Nation. Goodman committed on the same day as his good friend Priest Willis, who will be joining him in Westwood.

Derrell Warren of SB Nation wrote up a scouting report on Goodman this summer, mainly focusing on his physicality and his potential. Goodman is a hard-hitting player that tends to embrace contact and go after the football.

Tahaan Goodman has committed to the UCLA Bruins, giving Jim Mora’s class an elite safety -- and possibly indicating they’ll land another one by the end of the day.

Goodman is a consensus four-star recruit, generally considered one of the top ten safeties in his class and amongst the top 100 players at any position. He was also considering Oklahoma and had a visit planned to LSU, but the Rancho Cucamonga native decided to stay close to home -- meaning UCLA, not USC, a school he was also thinking about.

Tahaan Goodman to make decision on Wednesday

    Bud Elliot, SB Nation

Tahaan Goodman, a safety out of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, will be announcing his college decision at 5:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday. Goodman has recently made visits to UCLA and Oklahoma, but also has USC, LSU, and Texas A&M among his top choices. He holds offers from schools around the country, but does appear to be leaning towards staying close to home as either a Bruin or a Trojan.

Scout ranks Goodman as the seventh-best safety available. Rivals pegs him the highest positionally at No. 4, while ESPN rates him as No. 9. All services have him in their top 100 of the 2013 freshman class, with 247 Sports slotting him the highest at No. 46. Wherever he chooses to spend the next four years, that school will certainly be getting a top-tier defensive back.

DB Tahaan Goodman sets official visit to Oklahoma

    Soobum Im-USA TODAY Sports

Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.) DB Tahaan Goodman will be taking an official visit to Oklahoma this weekend, according to Scout’s Greg Biggins. At 6’2, 185 pounds, Goodman is a consensus four-star safety prospect, and he holds offers from USC, LSU and UCLA, in addition to Oklahoma. Goodman also scheduled an official visit to LSU for the weekend of Jan. 18.

Goodman would be a great get for the Sooners, although, they already have two safety commitments in their 2013 class in four-star Hatari Byrd and three-star Ahmad Thomas. Oklahoma currently has 17 commitments in total, so the Sooners have plenty of room for Goodman if he chooses to commit during the next month. Their class is currently ranked in the 14-19 range, which despite still being solid, is below expectations for a school like Oklahoma. However, a late push could put OU back in the top ten.
