Altee Tenpenny will join the line of Alabama running backs, although he gave Arkansas, the school from down the road, some thought even after being committed to the Crimson Tide for over a year.

Tenpenny’s easily one of the top running back recruits in the country: he’s got size -- 6 feet, 212 pounds -- and speed -- a 4.46 40. That’s why he’s a consensus four-star recruit, with Rivals ranking him at No. 8 in the country and No. 53 in the country.

Altee Tenpenny is one of the top running back prospects in the class of 2013 and an Alabama commitment, but despite that pledge, he is still exploring his options. Tenpenny, who is from North Little Rock, Ark., visited Arkansas over the weekend and told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette that he had a good time.

Tenpenny is rated the sixth-best running back in the class of 2013 and the top overall prospect in the state of Arkansas by Rivals. He also recently visited Alabama, where he committed back in January of 2012. He has offers from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Notre Dame and Auburn, among others.

SAN ANTONIO, Tex. -- Having grown up in North Little Rock, 2013 Alabama commit Altee Tenpenny has been on the local (and national) recruiting scene for some time, including putting up incredible testing numbers as an underage participant in The Opening in the summer of 2011. As a result, his commitment to the Crimson Tide in January of 2011 probably still stings for the pig-calling faithful of Fayetteville.

But the Razorbacks do have at least a little bit of a chance with the elite 5’11, 210-pound running back. Tenpenny will visit Arkansas on Jan. 18, what will likely be his final official visit after tripping to Tuscaloosa the weekend before.
