Rodney Adams had stopped playing football for a while with fear there was a hole in his heart, but the four-star recruit formerly committed to Florida will check out West Virginia this weekend as he tries to find his college home.

Adams, a 6’1, 166-pound wide receiver, is considered a four-star recruit by some services. He’s already visited Cincinnati, Toledo, and UCF -- very nearly a hometown school for the St. Petersburg, Fla., native -- and has offers from Minnesota and Houston as well. Adams had already shown his desire to play close to home once by committing to Florida, but we’ll see if Dana Holgorsen can convince him to leave the area to play in his wide receiver-friendly offense.
Adam’s decommitment from his home state school had several reasons: first off, Florida wide receivers coach Aubrey Hill resigned. Secondly, many believed Adams was not going to qualify academically. However, most worrisome was medical news: Adams had said he might be unable to continue playing football and took time off from the sport as doctors feared there was a hole in his heart. Luckily, that appears to no longer be a worry.
