Recruit talks up Notre Dame visit that never actually happened

Yes, football player makes up fake Notre Dame thing. The rare self-catfishing!

Update: Stanley Williams has called the episode “a big misunderstanding” and apologized.

Even when we’re not talking about Manti Te’o, we’re still talking about Manti Te’o. But what are our alternatives right here? We have none.

Quoth recruit Stanley Williams, Georgia commit and non-Notre Dame visitor, on visiting Notre Dame (he mentions the Irish tight end coach by name at one point):

“The visit went great,” Williams said. “It was great to experience something new and different, and we had a great time at the game. I had been looking forward to it for a while, and it was great to just get out there and see a new place. I plan on getting up there a couple more times in the future.”

Sounds like a great time at an exciting place!
