Five-star defensive end recruit Chris Jones will take an official visit to Auburn on Feb. 1, and the Tigers coaching staff will try to make one last impression on Jones before National Signing Day on Feb. 6. Jones, a 6’5, 250-pound prospect from Houston (Miss.) High School, is currently committed to Mississippi State, but Auburn and Alabama are still pursuing him.
Chris Jones taking official visit to Auburn: can Tigers land elite defensive end recruit?
The Mississippi State commit will take an official visit to Auburn right before Signing Day, and could be part of a big last-minute haul for the Tigers.

Jones committed to the Bulldogs last June after attending a camp in Starkville, but that hasn’t stopped other SEC teams from attempting to flip him. Jones received scholarship offers from Florida and Alabama in the past month, and he also holds offers from Auburn, LSU, and Ole Miss.
Five-star linebacker Reuben Foster will also be visiting Auburn on Feb. 1, and if head coach Gus Malzahn can secure the signatures of both Jones and Foster after flipping four-star wide receiver Tony Stevens from Texas A&M over the weekend, it would be a very positive ending to a tumultuous 2013 recruiting cycle for the Tigers.
