Vonn Bell, a safety from Ridgeland High School in Georgia, is one of the top remaining uncommitted prospects in the class of 2013, and many believe he'll end up pledging to the Alabama Crimson Tide. But Bell grew up as a fan of Tennessee, and new Volunteers head coach Butch Jones is working hard to get Bell to commit to UT. Jones and his entire defensive staff had an in-home with Bell on Monday, according to Ridgeland head coach Mark Mariakis.
Will Tennessee visit sway safety recruit Vonn Bell from Alabama?
Vonn Bell isn’t committed to a college just yet, but Alabama appears to be the favorite. Butch Jones and the Volunteers are trying to convince Bell that his future lies in Knoxville.

“I think it was important for [Tennessee] to do that,” Mariakis said. “Mr. Bell said they talked more about Tennessee, their new philosophy and what they were bringing to the table more so than they talked about Vonn’s role in that. I think they’ll get to that this weekend when he takes an official visit.”
As Mariakis notes, Bell will take an official visit to Tennessee this weekend. He visited Alabama last weekend, and he was in Columbus to visit Ohio State the weekend of Jan. 11.
Bell is considered the fourth-best player at his position and the 32nd-best overall prospect in the class of 2013 by Rivals.
