Class of 2014 offensive lineman Donell Stanley has verbally committed to South Carolina, the four-star prospect announced Saturday. Stanley is the 13th commitment for the Gamecocks this cycle.
Donell Stanley commitment: 4-star OL picks South Carolina
The Gamecocks picked up a big-time offensive lineman commit on Friday.

Out of Latta (S.C.) High School, Stanley can play at the guard and tackle positions. He has impressive size at 6’4, 330 pounds, and the 247 Sports composite ratings list him as the No. 8 offensive guard and No. 4 player from South Carolina in the Class of 2014. Scout ranks him as the fifth best guard in the class.
Stanley being an in-state prospect certainly didn’t hurt South Carolina’s chances to land the big man, and his unofficial visit on Sept. 14 may have sealed the deal. He has 13 offers, mostly from around the Southeast, and chose the Gamecocks over Alabama, Clemson, North Carolina, Florida State and Ohio State, among others. Stanley is the fourth four-star 2014 player, per 247 composite, to pledge to Steve Spurrier’s program.
