Since adding two-star all-purpose back Sherman Alston back in August, the Eagles have been relatively quiet on the recruiting front. Their 2014 class still sits at a respectable 38th in the country, although only 8th among teams in the ACC, according to the 247sports composite.
Boston College recruiting 2013: Back on track
A solid Eagles’ class is headed by talent on both sides of the ball.

With 22 commitments already in tow, it will be difficult for Boston College to move much higher -- in fact, the size of their class is much larger than any of the teams below them, meaning they could be passed in future months. Maryland, for example, trails by just 7 points in the 247composite, and with several more commitments, could overtake the Eagles, though the Terrapins are moving to the Big Ten in 2014.
Boston College’s top recruit in this class so far is athlete Thaddius Smith, a three-star recruit on the 247composite. Smith is among the top 50 athletes in 2014.
Other potential impact players joining Smith in Chestnut Hill will be linebacker Connor Strachan, 6’7 296 pound tackle James Hendren, wide receiver Isaac Yiadom, and defensive end Harold Landry. All four are three-star recruits on the 247composite, and of this group, the Needham, Massaschusetts native Strachan might be poised to make the biggest difference -- he is ranked in the top 15 at his position, while the others are all less heralded and less highly regarded.
Interestingly enough, the Eagles are also bringing in a kicker, a position where scholarship players are often a luxury -- they have a commitment from Stow (Oh.) Walsh Jesuit’s Mike Knoll, a top ten kicker in 2014.
