When Gary Andersen came to Wisconsin from Utah State, nobody doubted his qualifications as an in-game coach. The question was whether he would be able to recruit at the Big Ten level. So far, things have been going quite well for Andersen and the Badgers, as they stand near the top of the conference rankings for their 2014 class.

Wisconsin’s 2014 class ranks 26th in the nation, good for third in the Big Ten. The Badgers trail only Ohio State and Michigan in that category, and find themselves in front of Penn State, Michigan State and Nebraska, among others.
Wisconsin has received several recent commitments -- three-star local offensive tackle Beau Benzschawel and three-star Georgia defensive tackle Jeremy Patterson, who both committed in late October. Most recently, Wisconsin added a kicker!
Jaden Gault is the key to Wisconsin’s class. The offensive tackle from Monona Grove (Wis.) High School is considered a four-star prospect by the 247sports composite. He is rated as the 14th-best offensive tackle in the country and the best player in the state.
D.J. Gillins is another top talent in the class. The quarterback from Jean Ribault (Fla.) High School is rated as a three-star by the 247sports composite. He is considered the fifth-best dual-threat quarterback in the country and the 42nd-best player in the class.
George Panos is another important cog for the Badgers. The offensive guard from Arrowhead (Wis.) High School is considered a three-star by the 247sports composite. He is rated as the 19th-best guard in the country and the third-best player in the state.
Conor Sheehy is another big piece for Wisconsin. The defensive end from Marquette University (Wis.) High School is rated as a four-star by the 247sports composite. He is considered the 17th-best weak-side defensive end in the country and the fourth-best player in the state.
