Jaleel Wadood, a consensus four-star defensive back prospect, committed to UCLA on Tuesday, according to Scout recruiting analyst Greg Biggins. Wadood chose the Bruins over a bunch of other schools, including USC, Arizona State, Utah, Oregon State, Nebraska, Oregon, Washington and Cal.

The Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco High School product is 5’11 and weighs 170 pounds. He is regarded by 247Sports as the No. 9 safety in the 2014 class, the No. 12 player from California and the No. 129 overall prospect in the nation. He has earned similar ratings from both Scout and Rivals -- Scout ranks him the No. 8 safety, while Rivals considers him the 12th-best cornerback in the class. All three services rate him as a four-star player.
Wadood joins a UCLA class that ranks 34th in the country and fifth in the Pac-12, per the 247Sports composite rankings. He is the 14th member of the Bruins’ 2014 class.
