On the first play of Miami Central's second series, running back Dalvin Cook took the handoff, found nothing inside, cut the ball to the wide side of the field, turned on the afterburners and was gone for 37 yards. Cook also had a great run early in the second quarter in which he made Vanderbilt three-star safety recruit Kyle Gibson miss twice on the same play. On the day, Cook rushed for 224 yards on 19 carries and four touchdowns. He capped his day with touchdown runs of 80 and 5 yards. Comparisons to C.J. Spiller are legitimate for the five-star running back.

After, Cook spoke with the media about his recruitment.
The interview opened with a TV reporter, seemingly oblivious to Cook being committed to Florida but planning to announce his final decision at the Under Armour Game in early January, asking him about turning around the Gators’ program when he gets to Gainesville.
“I’m very excited because I know the type of player I am, and I’m going to go and change the program,” Cook said.
The assembled recruiting media, very aware that Cook is planning to make a decision between Florida, Florida State and Miami, then got to ask Cook questions about the process.
“I’m 100 percent recruited until the Under Armour Game,” Cook said. As an early-enrollee, Cook will be at his new school for the spring semester shortly after he makes his choice.
Schools have been coming after Cook hard.
“They’ve all been recruiting me hard the last two weeks, and I’m going to go ahead and shut my recruiting down,” Cook said.
Cook said that he will not welcome any other coaches, and that he has no plans to take any other visits, including Florida.
“Yeah, in my mind, I know where I’m going,” Cook said, declining to say where he is headed. He did say that he made up his mind last week.
The deciding factor in Cook’s decision? Coaches.
“The coaches I felt the most comfortable around. They came in and kept it real with me, and I just felt comfortable around them coaches,” Cook said.
Cook said that his relationship with Florida coach Travaris Robinson is solid.
“Coach T-Rob, he has been through this, he can relate to me,” Cook said. “When you open your recruiting process, you hear a lot of things, so he says he knows how it is.”
Cook said that he wants to play in a balanced offense, and one that fits him, he said in response to a question about Florida potentially switching to a spread offense.
Fans of Florida, Florida State and Miami will have to wait three weeks to find out where Cook is going. All three schools have a major draw. Florida is Cook's long-time favorite, Florida State has served former Central star running back Devonta Freeman very well, and Miami is the hometown team and the destination of fellow Central star running back and good friend, Joseph Yearby, who was lost for the season three games ago.
