Consensus five-star linebacker prospect Raekwon McMillan announced his 2014 commitment to Ohio State Monday afternoon. McMillan had said previously that Ohio State, Clemson, Alabama, Auburn and Georgia were his finalists. The Buckeyes had been favored to land him, and Urban Meyer visited his home the night before the announcement.

The Hinesville (Ga.) Liberty County High School product had a huge 2013 -- he racked up 159 tackles, including 8.5 sacks and 35 total tackles for loss, per 247Sports. It was the second straight season in which he had more than 150 tackles.
And yes, he has a unique name -- he was an easy choice for our 2014 All-Name Team. He’s probably the first college football player to be named after a Wu-Tang Clan member, meaning we are all very old. You should also know that Meyer’s nickname for McMillan is “Bubble,” due to the linebacker’s powerful haunches.
McMillan, who stands 6’2 and weighs 242 pounds, is considered one of the top 20 overall players available in the 2014 class by many recruiting analysts. He is ranked as the No. 1 inside linebacker prospect in the nation by 247Sports, and the No. 17 player overall. Rivals also considers him the best player at his position and a top-20 prospect overall. Scout mildly disagrees with those assessments, ranking him fifth among middle linebackers.
McMillan will likely be able to make an instant impact in Columbus, and the fit is excellent. Urban Meyer’s longstanding relationship with McMillan was key in getting him to leave home.
