Kareem Are, a consensus three-star junior college offensive lineman, committed to Florida State over Ole Miss and Penn State, among plenty of other suitors. Are most recently made a trip to Ole Miss, and visited with Penn State coaches, according to his 247Sports timeline, but that wasn’t enough to sway him away from the Seminoles.
Kareem Are commits to Florida State: JUCO offensive line recruit picks Noles over Ole Miss, Penn State
The Seminoles got some offensive line depth with the addition of Are, a top-50 JUCO player.

Are has been playing for Fort Scott Community College in Kansas, though he attended high school in New York. He stands 6’6 and weighs 335 pounds and has been projected at both guard and tackle, depending on the recruiting service.
He is considered the No. 36 overall junior college player available in the 2014 class by 247, which gave him four stars and rates him as the best JUCO guard prospect in the nation. Scout and Rivals consider Are to be a three-star prospect.
Are joins what was already an impressive Florida State recruiting class. Prior to his commitment, the Seminoles already had the nation’s seventh-best group. Are is the sixth offensive line recruit for Florida State, and the Seminoles could be looking to take as many as eight.
