Four-star junior college defensive tackle Jarran Reed has committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide, the recruit announced on Twitter.
4-star Jarran Reed commits to Alabama over other SEC teams
That makes three different SEC schools that the JuCo star defensive tackle has committed to.

DT Jarran Reed. @rollbamaroll MT @1j_reed: my decision is final I will be joing Alabama ..I'm committed to Tide Roll Tide Roll
— SB Nation Recruiting (@SBNRecruiting) December 4, 2013 Jarran Reed signed with Florida last year but failed to qualify. Now commits to Alabama. Solid pickup for #Bama.
— Derek Tyson (@DerekTysonESPN) December 4, 2013 Previously, Reed committed to Ole Miss, making it three different SEC schools that he has pledged to. The commitment now brings Alabama’s 2014 class up to 24 members, and it is considered by far the best in the country. The 247sports composite gives Nick Saban’s class 307.78 points, while second-place Texas A&M has 267.59.
Reed is one of four defensive tackle commitments for the Tide, joining Josh Frazier, O.J. Smith and Johnny Dwight -- all three-star prospects with the exception of Frazier, who gets a four-star rating. As the only JuCo prospect of the bunch, Reed is expected to make a much more immediate impact.
Reed is rated as the 21st-best junior college player in the 2014 class by the composite, and as the fifth-best defensive tackle and the sixth-best player in the state of Mississippi.
