Chad Mavety, a four-star junior college offensive tackle recruit, committed to Florida State over Ohio State and a host of other offers Monday, according to multiple reports. Mavety, of Garden City (N.Y.) Nassau Community College, is one of the best junior college offensive tackles in the country. At 6’6 and 320 pounds, he has very impressive power. But he also has good quickness for a man of his size, which allows him to play on the edge.
Chad Mavety commits to Florida State: Seminoles beat Ohio State for JUCO tackle recruit

Mavety is the 24th commitment for the Seminoles, and the second offensive tackle. The Seminoles wanted Mavety very much, because offensive tackle Cam Erving, the current starter on the left side, could be leaving early for the NFL draft. Mavety visited Florida State for the Miami game, a 41-14 win by the Seminoles, and Florida State let him know how much he is needed in Tallahassee.
Florida State now has 10 four-star players committed, and could take as many as 31 if enough players enroll early for the January semester.
