FSU lands five-star linebacker recruit


Kain Daub Bud Elliott (SB Nation Recruiting)Kain Daub, a linebacker prospect from Sandalwood High School in Jacksonville (Fla.), committed to the Florida State Seminoles Friday night, according to a report. He chose FSU over offers from Alabama North Carolina, Miami, Auburn, Oregon, Ohio State, Florida, Southern Cal and South Carolina. Daub was briefly committed to LSU in the summer of 2012 before opening up his recruitment in November.

The Seminoles lost six coaches in a span of six weeks, and struggled to create new relationships in the short window. This year FSU projects to take a class of between 24 and 31 players. Cosentino Cosentino’s facebookFlorida State has added a commitment from quarterback JJ Cosentino, as first reported by Tom Loy of Noles247.
Cosentino stands 6’4 and checks in at 215 pounds. He is a sturdy, pro-style quarterback. Cosentino stars for Pittsburgh (PA) Central Catholic High School, which also produced Dan Marino and Marc Bulger (former starting QB of the St. Louis Rams).

Blake McClain Will McClainBlake McClain, one of the top defensive ends in Florida for the class of 2014, committed to the Florida State Seminoles Wednesday, according to multiple reports.
McClain, out of Jacksonville (Fla.) Sandalwood High School, is a consensus four-star recruit. He also claims offers from Alabama, LSU, North Carolina, Auburn and West Virginia.

Joseph Yearby Bud Elliott (SB Nation Recruiting)Yearby committed to Florida State in the late summer of 2012, but verbal commitments are non-binding, and he also claims offers from Miami, Florida State, West Virginia and UCF. On Tuesday, he made the decision to flip his commitment to the hometown Hurricanes.
The hire of new offensive coordinator James Coley, formerly of Florida State, likely helped Miami pull off the flip. Yearby is Miami’s fourth commitment of the 2014 class.

Joseph Yearby Bud Elliott - SB NationJoseph Yearby is one of the top running backs for the class of 2014. Out of Miami (Fla.) Central High School, Yearby stands only 5’9 but weighs in at a solid 190 pounds. He is a four-star recruit according to 247sports, Rivals and Scout, and is on the ESPN Watch List.
Yearby committed to Florida State in the late summer of 2012, but verbal commitments are non-binding, and he also claims offers from Miami, Florida State, West Virginia and UCF.
