Jason Hatcher decommits from USC for Kentucky, according to report

The four-star defensive end from Louisville will reportedly stay close to home and play for the Wildcats.

US PRESSWIRE

Defensive end Jason Hatcher has decommitted from USC, and will attend Kentucky, according to 247sports.com. Hatcher, a four-star recruit from Louisville (Ky.) Trinity, has had an up-and-down recruitment with the Trojans, who he originally committed to last July. He decommitted on Jan. 22, then recommitted two days later before decommitting again one day before National Signing Day.

Hatcher is USC’s second decommit of the day, after they also lost five-star defensive back Jalen Ramsey to Florida State. However, despite only having 12 commits in their 2013 recruiting class, the Trojans are still ranked in the top 20 by most recruiting services.

Kentucky, meanwhile, is looking to lock up their second commitment of the day. The Wildcats have landed four-star wide receiver Ryan Timmons, another in-state product out of Frankfort. New head coach Mark Stoops is off to a fairly impressive start on the recruiting trail, in spite of the difficulties that come with the Kentucky football program.
