The Oklahoma Sooners inked one of the top 2013 running backs in the state of Oklahoma when Cypress (Texas) Cypress Ranch’s Keith Ford signed and faxed his letter of intent on Wednesday morning.

A 247Sports composite ranking five-star running back, the 5-11, 203-pound Ford participated in the 2013 Under Armour All-American game and had been committed to Oklahoma since giving his verbal pledge at a Junior Day in early 2012.

Ford is the total package as a running back -- he has the ideal height to keep a low center of gravity, the mass to run through arm tackles, and the speed to maximize runs. When the hole he is looking for isn’t available, Ford can demonstrate the vision to see and hit cutback lanes, aided by good lateral quickness. But even though the Sooner signee can bounce plays outside, he’s not a player who wastes his time dancing in the hole -- he cuts and goes whenever possible.

Ford turned in an impressive senior season in which he ran for 1,868 yards on 280 carries, scoring 24 touchdowns in the process.

Ratings: 247Sports composite ranking five-star prospect, 24th nationally, 3rd-ranked running back

Vitals: 5-11, 203 pounds

Other offers: Alabama, Baylor, Florida State, Michigan, Nebraska, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, UCLA, Wisconsin

Recruitment timeline: Ford committed to Oklahoma on March 3, 2012 and remained firm in his commitment throughout the process.
