Jalin Marshall signs with Ohio State

The Buckeyes have secured the services of Jalin Marshall, an extremely versatile and explosive athlete and Ohio native.

Bud Elliott - SB Nation

The Ohio St. Buckeyes have signed highly regarded athlete Jalin Marshall to a letter of intent. The 6'0", 190 lb Middletown (Oh.) product has been committed to the Buckeyes for over a year, and is part of Urban Meyer's first complete recruiting class as the head coach in Columbus.

Marshall is a consensus top 50 player in the 2013 recruiting class, and is in the top handful of athlete prospects in the nation. He’s part of a 22 man Ohio State recruiting class that is listed among the top five in the nation.

Marshall is an extremely versatile player, so much so that different recruiting services have him listed as a dual-threat quarterback, wide receiver, and athlete. With Braxton Miller firmly entrenched at quarterback for the Buckeyes, it would seem that Marshall's future will be at wide receiver, where Urban Meyer could utilize him in a role similar to that of Percy Harvin at Florida. There hasn't been much turnover at wide receiver on the Ohio State roster, but if Marshall is capable of making plays with the ball in his hands, then Meyer will find a way to get him on the field.

Ratings: Five-star (Scout), four-star (247, Rivals, ESPN)

Vitals: 6’0”, 190 lbs, 4.40 40 yard dash

Other offers: Cincinnati, Illinois, Indiana, Notre Dame, Pitt, Tennessee

Twitter: Marshall can be found on Twitter @JalinMarshall. Here’s a sample of what you might find:

Recruitment timeline: Marshall has been a Buckeye commit since Jan. 30, 2012, and has not taken a visit to any other programs since committing.
