Ethan Pocic signs with LSU: Tigers build offensive line depth
In 2012, one of LSU’s weaknesses was its offensive line. Four-star tackle Ethan Pocic is one of several incoming players who could help on that front.

Pocic’s size is hard to come by, now listed at 6’7, 285 pounds, with the ability to grow bigger. He’s a consensus four-star recruit, as Rivals and Scout have him as the No. 4 offensive tackle in the country, while ESPN isn’t much further behind, putting him at No. 6. Rivals also considers him the No. 50 player overall, whereas ESPN puts him in the top 100 as well, down at No. 94. Here’s what SB Nation’s Bud Elliott had to say about Pocic after the big tackle committed to LSU back in May:
Pocic stands 6’6 and weighs 285 pounds. He has the frame to add 20 to 30 pounds of good weight at the college level. Pocic has great length, plays hard and mauls opponents in the run game. And while he is raw in the pass protection game, he does appear to have good feet and athleticism, which will lend itself to becoming a good pass protector.
Pocic received offers from all over the country. A Lemont, Ill. native, he opted not to go to Illinois, where his brother, Graham Pocic, was an all-Big Ten honorable mention at center this past season as a senior. Other options included Alabama, Florida, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Oregon, among many more.
LSU's offensive line was rather patchwork this year, returning just one starter from a 2011 team that made the national championship game, and center J.P. Lonergan and left tackle Josh Dworaczyk graduate. There's talent coming, though. Pocic is one of three four-star offensive linemen coming in, alongside guards Andy Dodd and Josh Boutte.
