The Texas A&M Aggies needed to find some help at safety in the 2013 class after graduating both starters in 2012, and may have found some in Mesquite (Texas) West Mesquite’s Kameron Miles.

The Aggies added a rugged safety who should fit well in the SEC.
A US Army All-American who is considered a consensus four-star prospect, Miles is a top-20 player in the state of Texas by the 247Sports composite rankings and one of the 15 best safeties in the country, in addition to landing close to the top 150 players overall. Miles held offers from Arizona State, Arkansas, Baylor, Connecticut, Illinois, Kansas State, Miami, Ole Miss, Penn State, Stanford, TCU, UCLA, West Virginia, and many others.
Here’s the scoop on Miles:
A prototypical SEC safety at 6’2 and right around 200 pounds, Miles was looked at by some schools as a linebacker/safety hybrid due to his size, but could stay at safety despite the fact that he doesn’t have ideal testing speed. Miles plays fast in pads, hits hard, and has shown the ability to make plays in coverage.

Recruitment timeline: Miles committed to Tennessee in May 2012 before visiting Knoxville, then opened up his recruitment in November days after receiving his offer from A&M. He decommitted on Nov. 14, named the Aggies his leader, then announced his commitment to A&M hours later.
