Wide receiver Francis Owusu has signed with the Stanford Cardinal. Owusu is following in the footsteps of his brother, Chris Owusu, who played wide receiver for the Cardinal from 2008-2011. The 6'3, 195 lb Thousand Oaks (Ca.) Oaks Christian product is the top rated receiver in Stanford's class. As a senior, he caught 52 passes for 915 yards and 11 touchdowns, and also rushed for another two scores.

The Oaks Christian wide receiver will follow in his brother Chris’ footsteps and play for David Shaw at Stanford.

Like his brother, Owusu is a big, strong receiver with good hands, and runs very nice routes. Also like his brother, he lacks pure top-end speed, but in an offense like Stanford's, that isn't really a huge issue. Owusu could come into some playing time early, as the Cardinal will be losing their top three receiving targets in tight ends Zach Ertz and Levine Toilolo, and wide receiver Drew Terrell.
Stanford’s class is rated around 60 by most services, but that’s due more to size than quality. The Cardinal have only 12 commits, but all of them are either three or four-star recruits, including Owusu and Va. quarterback Ryan Burns.
Ratings: Owusu is a consensus four-star recruit.
