Scouting Report:

Other than the significant skills that Adams show in pads and in shorts during summer 7-on-7, what really stands out from watching him at the latter events is the fact that he’s a superlative leader. The son of former Giants running back George Adams, the Hebron product is the heart and soul of his team.

Before the games start, he’s the taskmaster of the team, making sure that his teammates are focused and locked in on the task at hand. During games, he’s the vocal leader, calling out instructions and encouragement. In other words, he has the makeup of a player who will eventually become a team leader in college as well as a coach on the field.

At 6’0, Adams isn’t one of the most physically imposing safeties around, but he’s a hard hitter who notably has to reign himself in when he can’t tackle during the summer and has the feet and overall speed of a cornerback, so he’ll be a scheme-versatile prospect in college who can play virtually any position in the secondary.

On one play on his junior highlights, Adams meets a ballcarrier only yards before the endzone and executes a perfect form tackle that results in the opponent being picked up and slammed to the ground, far from the only time that he delivers a vicious hit on his film.

In coverage, he can read the eyes of the quarterback to break on the football and has the leaping ability to compete with taller wide receivers for the football when he gets there.

With the football in his hands, he has a knack for finding the endzone, whether in the return game or after an interception.

Add it all up and Adams looks like a high-floor, high-ceiling prospect who would fit in any defense.
