Bud Elliott, National Recruiting Analyst: Rudolph is a playmaker. He does not have elite track speed, though is it good and he plays faster than his times. What he does have, however, is a knack for playing the position, and a smooth, gliding style that makes things happen.

Rudolph is very good after the catch. He has a good idea of the flow of the defense, is shifty and is plenty quick. He really has a nose for the endzone. Rudolph is explosive out of his cuts, and he has very good strength for his size, which will help in beating the press.

While Rudolph is dynamic with the ball in his hands, his skills as a route runner aren’t really known. He plays in a Wing-T offense, and often lines up as the wing-back, quickly being handed the ball or running streaks off play action. However, Rudolph’s athleticism and ability to make sharp cuts suggest that he can become a good route runner. Rudolph’s highlights also don’t show him making many tough catches or elevating to catch the football.

Rudolph is a tough kid who could also succeed as a defensive back, though is better with the ball in his hands.

Rudolph could immediately start as a punt returner, depending on his college destination, and profiles as a multi-year starter for a BCS team.

Update: During Rudolph’s senior year, his team threw him the ball more and Rudolph showed more route running ability. He was also tremendous during Under Armour All-America week, consistently beating the best defensive backs in the country with great routes, and showcasing tremendous hands.
