Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide make it look easy, and on the same day the Tide saw players drafted back-to-back-to-back in the first round of the NFL Draft, they landed a top defensive prospect in cornerback Stephen Roberts out of Opelika (Ala.) High School.

Now, Roberts is a long way from being Dee Milliner. Milliner was considered a five-star, the No. 2 cornerback recruit in the country in high school, and it turned out he blossomed into a lockdown guy worthy of a top-ten pick. Meanwhile, the 6’0, 177-pound Roberts is merely a four-star recruit per most scouting services. With only five commits thus far, Alabama is already starting to build a strong defensive backfield in the class of 2014. Roberts joins Kalvaraz Bessent, also a four-star corner, and Chris Williams, a defensive back who went to high school with Bessent.
We'll see if Roberts or Bessent is one of the people who's been "Built By Bama" in a few years.
