Consensus four-star prospect Derek Kief, a wide receiver out of Cincinnati, holds over 20 FBS-level scholarship offers, from some of the nation's top programs. He was a special guest of Urban Meyer at Ohio State's spring game. The local Cincinnati Bearcats and not-so-local Illinois Fighting Illini sent their scholarship offers before he had finished his sophomore year of high school. He is a hot commodity this summer.

Four-star prospect takes to his own website, announces top five choices with creativity of a fan sign at a televised game. Recruiting remains weird.

When it came time for Kief to narrow his possible selections down to a Top 5, he took to his own website and let his inner graphic designer get to work:
Kief was quick to point out that the order of the schools in his announcement -- Notre Dame, Kentucky, Ohio State, Northwestern, and Alabama -- was not his current order of preference. After all, if the first letters of his five favorite colleges fit into the lyric from his specially-commissioned rap song in order, that would be one weird coincidence.
No word on whether this list takes other schools -- such as Clemson, which Kief previously announced he would visit -- out of contention.
