Larry Fedora continues to build one of the best classes in North Carolina history, adding his second 4-star offensive lineman in Bentley Spain from Charlotte (N.C.) Providence.
4-star OL Bentley Spain picks North Carolina
UNC picked up their second four-star offensive tackle of their highly touted class of 2014, adding Charlotte product Bentley Spain to their haul.

Spain, listed as 6’6, 275 pounds, is a consensus four-star player who ranks as the No. 13 offensive tackle in the nation and No. 7 player in the state. Although North Carolina’s class now has 19 players, Spain is only the fifth player from in-state, although three of those five are from Charlotte. Spain had been at attendance at Nike’s The Opening, where he ran a 5.4 40 and 4.6 shuttle.
Spain chose the Tar Heels over 15 offers, including some national powerhouses like Florida, LSU, Michigan, Penn State, and Stanford, ACC squads like Clemson, Duke, Maryland, Virginia, and Virginia Tech, and some local opponents for North Carolina in South Carolina and NC State.
Spain joins fellow 4-star tackle Caleb Samuel in the Tar Heels’ 2014 class. They’re joined in the trenches by guard Josh Allen. The Tar Heels had been ranked at No. 19 in the 247 composite rankings, but that will rise.
