Deshaun Watson talks Elite 11, The Opening, and Clemson

The Clemson commit spoke with SB Nation about his experience with Elite 11 and The Opening, as well as his commitment to the Tigers.

Bud Elliott, SB Nation

The 6’4, 200-pound Watson is one of the highest-rated quarterbacks in the country, carrying a consensus four-star grade. Watson has already committed to Clemson after also being offered by major programs such as Georgia, Florida State, LSU, Ohio State and Tennessee. As a junior, the Georgia Class AAAAA Player of the Year completed 315 passes out of 435 attempts for 4,311 yards and 50 TDs with only eight interceptions. Watson also ran for 1,444 yards and another 24 scores, giving him 74 touchdowns on the year. In one of his games, a 69-0 win over Winder-Barrow, the Gainesville star was literally perfect, going 18-of-18 for 350 yards and seven touchdowns, becoming one of only three players to throw for seven or more scores in a game in Georgia high school history.

Watson spoke with SB Nation’s Bud Elliott at The Opening about his Elite 11 experience, as well as the program he’s currently committed to, Clemson.
