Davon Godchaux, a four-star defensive end out of Louisiana, committed to the LSU Tigers on Monday night. He was also considering Alabama, Florida, Ole Miss and a handful of other schools primarily out of the SEC.
4-star DE Davon Godchaux commits to LSU Tigers
Godchaux committed to play for the hometown Tigers on Monday evening.

Godchaux to 247 on why he picked the Tigers:
“I went ahead and committed because they sold me on the chance to come in and compete to earn playing time early on. I will work out at any spot on the line, I just want to compete. And I know that Coach Brick can coach me up and help me get to the NFL. He’s always let me know that.”
Godchaux hails from Plaquemine, Louisiana, which is only 20 miles south of Baton Rouge. Most recruiting experts felt he would eventually end up a Tiger, though there were a few who thought the Florida Gators could steal him at the last minute. Godchaux is ranked as a top-150 recruit nationally, according to 24/7 Sports.
At 6’4 and 265 pounds, Godchaux already possesses the size and strength to potentially play early in his career at LSU. He projects to play strong-side DE in college, though that could change once the coaching staff gets a hold of him in the weight room.
The addition of Godchaux moves the Tigers up to 10th in 24/7 Sports’ composite team recruiting rankings.
