SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Forgive Crete (Ill.) Crete-Monee linebacker Nyles Morgan if he wants to preserve the suspense prior to his announcement at the US Army All-American Bowl on Saturday.

He’s apologetic about the whole deal -- he just doesn’t want to give up anything in the final moments that could tip his hand.
As a result, Morgan has no favorites. And good luck getting any lengthy comments about him from the schools that will have hats on the table when Morgan makes his decision on Saturday -- Notre Dame, Ole Miss and Vanderbilt.

“Just like the school,” Morgan said.
Pressed to elaborate, the consensus four-star prospect wasn’t willing to offer anything more substantial than the fact that he likes the coaching staff in South Bend.
As for Vanderbilt, Morgan said that he’s still considering the school and likes the academics and facilities in Nashville.
But would head coach James Franklin leaving impact his commitment if he becomes a Commodore on Saturday, as Franklin has been connected wight he open Texas job and the open Penn State job?
“Maybe.”
Ole Miss has the advantage of having two former high school teammates of Morgan on their roster. Both are recruiting him to join them in Oxford and there’s some appeal to playing in the SEC, he said, since the league has a reputation for putting linebackers into the NFL.
Perhaps the charisma of James Franklin is enough to lure Morgan to Vanderbilt, but the connections to his high school teammates and all the recent visits to Notre Dame would seem to give those two schools the edge.
The Crystal Ball is leaning heavily in favor of the closet school, Notre Dame, with the Fighting Irish sitting at 77 percent in the projections and a number of predictions switched from Vanderbilt and Ole Miss in recent weeks.
One thing that Morgan was willing to share -- he knows the school he’s set to pick, which might explain why he’s so reluctant to say much.
