Four-star cornerback recruit Naijiel Hale has flipped his commitment from Arizona to Washington, according to Bruce Feldman of CBS Sports. The Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco standout -- who is the son of deceased singer* Nate Dogg -- committed to the Wildcats back in July of 2013, but was convinced to change his mind by new head coach Chris Petersen and company after an official visit on Jan. 31.

With less than a week to go until National Signing Day, the four-star California cornerback has changed his mind.

Hale stands 5’10 and weighs in at 175 pounds, and is rated as a four-star recruit by 247 and Scout, and a three-star recruit by Rivals and ESPN. He’s considered one of the top 30 cornerback recruits in the entire 2014 recruiting class by each of the four major services, and is among the top 50 rated players in the talent-rich state of California.
Hale is the second major California prospect to commit to the Huskies over the past several weeks leading up to signing day. Four-star San Jose (Calif.) Bellarmine Prep quarterback K.J. Carta-Samuels committed to Washington after decommitting from Vanderbilt. Hale and Carta-Samuels give Petersen a pair of high profile talents to build around going forward.
*It should be noted that there was some uncertainty as to how Nate Dogg should be labeled. Suggestions included rapper, singer, regulator, hook master, and voice of a generation. I think they all apply, personally.
