College football recruiting roundup: Evaluating 2014 and looking ahead to 2015

Georgia Tech
From the Rumble Seat continued their series looking at the Yellow Jackets’ signees with a profile on linebacker Tre Jackson.
Miami
In part two of their look ahead at recruiting targets in 2015, State of the U takes a look at the various defensive players the Hurricanes will be targeting in this upcoming class, led by five-star defensive lineman CeCe Jefferson. In part one, they looked at the offensive targets, including a loaded group of receivers and running backs.
The folks at State of the U also put together an “All-Recruits That Got Away Team”, led primarily by Florida State and Florida signees.
Virginia Tech
An astonishing 20 players have decommitted from Frank Beamer’s program and ended up elsewhere on National Signing Day since 2005. Gobbler Country looks back at the players who almost were Hokies.
Gobbler Country also took a look at some potential sleepers in their 2014 haul, including low three-star athlete Greg Stroman.
The Tidewater region in Virginia has elite recruits year after year, but the Hokies' hold on it is disappearing, due to the emergence of Virginia as a recruiting power and Tech's own struggles in the recruiting game.
Big Ten
Maryland
The Terrapins are coming off a largely successful 2014 haul led by five-star offensive tackle Damian Prince, and Testudo Times takes a look at the high quality of talent the Terps are looking at targeting on the offensive side of the ball in 2015. They also looked at the film of incoming massive JuCo offensive lineman Larry Mazyck, who could start at left tackle this season.
Michigan
Maize N’ Brew’s weekly recruiting roundup has information on a new 2015 linebacker offer for the Wolverines, and they have also published part one of a series in which blue-chip recruit Jabrill Peppers took a video log of his visit to the school.
Ohio State
The Buckeyes are going after four-star running back and speedster Bryce Love, and Land-Grant Holy Land talked to the prospect about his recruitment. Ohio State has also offered three-star 2015 West Virginia commit Kahlil Lewis. Their status with five-star defensive end Malik McDowell is still in limbo, but they may get a visit from the Michigan State commit.
Penn State
Black Shoe diaries took a look around the conference and noted the relative high amount of excitement and surprises for Big Ten teams this year on Signing Day.
Big 12
Oklahoma
Joe Mixon is the big name at running back in the Sooners’ class, but Crimson and Cream Machine says fellow incoming freshman Samaje Perine could make just as big of an impact in the backfield.
Four-star local defensive end Deondre Clark was thought to have signed with LSU on Signing Day, but apparently “nothing is final” and he is visiting the Sooners this weekend. Crimson and Cream Machine does not expect Clark to end up with Oklahoma, but it is an intriguing development.
Texas
Barking Carnival took a look at the Longhorns’ defensive line haul in the 2014 recruiting class, led by blue-chip commitment Poona Ford. They also examined Texas’s new linebackers and running backs.
Pac-12
Arizona State
The Sun Devils brought in two quarterbacks in the 2014 class, and House of Sparky looks at both of them.
California
California Golden Blogs took a look at the Bears’ targets at quarterback -- an incredibly important position in Sonny Dykes’ Bear Raid scheme.
Stanford
The Stanford athletic department posted a series of videos wherein coaches talk about the Cardinal’s new signees. Rule of Tree posted videos on the quarterbacks and running backs, offensive linemen, defensive backs and linebackers.
USC
The Trojans had the top class in the conference thanks to a highly successful Signing Day. Conquest Chronicles takes a closer look at the haul.
Washington
It’s never too early to start thinking about the next year’s recruiting class, and the folks at UW Dawg Pound have done just that, looking at a group of targets for the Huskies in the class.
Washington State
The folks at CougCenter put together a great infographic on Washington State’s 2014 signing class.
SEC
Alabama
The Tide have a new offensive coordinator in Lane Kiffin, who has a reputation as an excellent recruiter. Is it deserved? Roll ‘Bama Roll looks at his recruiting class at Tennessee.
Arkansas
The Razorbacks are off to a fast start in the 2015 class, with five commitments (including four four stars) already. Arkansas Fight takes a look at where the class stands and where it could end up.
Auburn
Four-star cornerback signee Kalvaraz Bessent was arrested on three felony drug charges related to a traffic stop. Bessent was one of Auburn’s top commits in the class of 2014, and was expected to compete for playing time at cornerback.
Florida
Alligator Army gives the Gators’ quarterback haul an A, after bringing in Will Grier and Treon Harris in the class.
LSU
The Tigers brought in a kicker that didn’t kick field goals in high school -- And the Valley Shook takes a look at him and some other potential diamonds in the rough from the preferred walk-on haul.
South Carolina
The Gamecocks had some positions of need on the defensive side of the ball (notably defensive end and cornerback), but they filled those problems in their recruiting class. Garnet and Black Attack looks at which incoming signees could make an instant impact on defense.
Tennessee
The Volunteers signed one of the biggest recruiting classes in school history, and Rocky Top Talk took a closer look.
