LSU has hauled in yet another big fish for its 2014 recruiting class, as five-star wide receiver Malachi Dupre has pledged to the Tigers on National Signing Day.
Malachi Dupre signs with LSU: Tigers land 5-star receiver recruit
The Tigers add their fourth five-star prospect in the class.

Listed at 6’2.5 and 187 pounds, Dupre attends John Curtis (La.) High School and hails from New Orleans. He is considered a five-star recruit by Rivals and Scout, who both rank him as their second-best wide receiver in the class. 247Sports also considers him a five-star, while ESPN rates him as a four-star and its top wide receiver. The 247Sports Composite rates Dupre the 17th-best prospect in the class, ranking him as the second-best receiver in the country and the fourth-best player in the state of Louisiana.
Dupre chose LSU over Florida State, UCLA and Alabama, among others. He will join a loaded recruiting class that already includes the top overall player (running back Leonard Fournette), the No. 2 outside linebacker (Clifton Garrett) and the second-rated safety in the country (Jamal Adams). With Dupre’s commitment, LSU jumps several classes in the SEC, but is still behind Alabama.
SB Nation recruiting analyst Bud Elliott shared some thoughts on Dupre:
Two guys stand out to me as the best receivers I’ve seen on film and in person this year: Josh Malone (Tennessee) and Malachi Dupre. Dupre is extremely good. He has good speed, good hands, good quickness, and in the red zone, he is an absolute beast due to his body control and vertical leap.
