4-star Derrick Nnadi committing to Florida State on National Signing Day

The Seminoles land one of the best defensive line prospects in the country on National Signing Day.

One of the top defensive tackles in the country made his long-awaited college decision on Wednesday, as Derrick Nnadi is signing his National Letter of Intent to play college football with FSU, as revealed by his announcement event’s program. He made the news official shortly after.

Nnadi committed to the Noles over 17 FBS offers, including Virginia Tech, Ohio State, Florida State and Virginia. His decision came down to FSU, UVa and VT, with the Hokies widely considered the favorite entering Signing Day (we predicted FSU, of course).

Listed at 6’1 and 305 pounds, Nnadi attended Ocean Lakes (Va.) High School and hails from Virginia Beach. The consensus four-star recruit is considered one of the top interior linemen in the country by each of the four major recruiting services.

FSU entered the day with a top-five recruiting class, and Nnadi’s commitment could be just the first piece of good news coming Jimbo Fisher’s way.

Nnadi is considered the fourth-best defensive tackle in the country by Rivals, the third-best by Scout, the eighth-best by 247Sports and the 21st-best by ESPN. The 247Sports Composite, which aggregates the ratings from each of the four recruiting services, considers him a four-star, ranking him as the 99th-best prospect in the country, the seventh-best defensive tackle in the class and the fifth-best player from the state of Virginia.
