Charlotte Nike football camp: Top talent ready to compete

The Charlotte regional of the Nike Football Training Camp series is scheduled to begin on Saturday morning at Ardrey Kell High School.

SB Nation will be on scene providing live updates beginning around 10 ET in the comments section. We’ll be looking at some of the best players in the country, as there will be plenty of top prospects in attendance.

QB

Two of the quarterbacks to watch are North Carolina products, including North Carolina commit Anthony Ratliff, a consensus three-star dual-threat quarterback from Butler High School, and Durham Southern’s Kendall Hinton, who holds four offers, including NC State.

The best talent may be in the 2016 class. Highly-regarded prospects such as South Carolina’s Avery McCall, who already holds offers from the likes of Clemson, LSU, South Carolina, and Tennessee, and Charlotte’s own Austin Kendall, who has seven offers so far, will be there.

Conway (S.C.) wide receiver Bryan Edwards is a standout in the 2016 class, while Tavin Richardson is another wide receiver who could grow into a tight end eventually. Meanwhile, the defensive backs will be the most talented group in attendance, including consensus four-star Clemson commit Van Smith, a top-15 play in North Carolina. Virginia Beach (Virg.) Ocean Lakes cornerback Levonta Taylor will be one of the top prospects in the 2016 rankings once they start coming out this spring and is approaching 20 offers.
