Four-star WR Kemah Siverand has Texas A&M Aggies as his leader

A top 18? At least it’s in order.

Houston (Texas) Cypress Ridge wide receiver Kemah Siverand is one of the top prospects in the state at his position and early on Wednesday released a list of his top 10 schools:

Now, typically any time a prospect gets past about five or so schools, the list isn’t worth much attention, but in a time when fewer and fewer prospects are willing to name a leader or list their top schools in order, a list such as the one put out by Siverand takes on a little bit more importance.

The 6’0, 183-pounder was a standout at the Houston Nike Football Training Camp in early April and is ranked as a consensus four-star prospect, the No. 19 wide receiver nationally, the No. 24 player in the state of Texas, and the No. 170 prospect in the nation, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Not coincidentally, the 18 schools on Siverand's list make up the 18 schools that have currently offered the No. 3 wide receiver in the state. For some time, his recruitment was expected to come down to Texas A&M and Texas, the only two schools that currently have predictions entered in the 247Sports Crystal Ball, with the Aggies now leading by a significant 76% to 24% margin.

So it was no surprise to see the Aggies on top, as expected, but it was surprising to see three other schools in front of the Longhorns, including Big 12 rivals Texas Tech and Oklahoma State. The Red Raiders, for instance, worked with Siverand in a camp last summer, but didn’t extend an offer until February, a lengthy wait that could have hurt head coach Kliff Kingsbury and his program.

Will any school catch the Aggies in the recruitment of Siverand? Wednesday’s announcement from the nation’s top dual-threat quarterback, Allen (Texas) star Kyler Murray, could help further swing momentum in favor of head coach Kevin Sumlin’s program if Murray chooses the Texas A&M and follows in his father’s footsteps.
