Jaquan Johnson is a versatile prospect in the Class of 2015.

Johnson, out of Killian High School in Miami, Fla., stands 5’10 and weighs in at 181 pounds. As of May, he’s rated four-stars by the 247sports composite, which ranks him No. 166 in the nation, No. 8 among safeties and No. 24 among players from the state of Florida.

Johnson is drawing interest from some top programs, mostly in the Southeast. He holds scholarship offers from Florida, Florida State, Miami, South Carolina, Cincinnati, Clemson, LSU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and West Virginia, among others.

Fans can follow Johnson on Twitter @AuthenticMade_Q.

Johnson is not the biggest prospect, or the fastest. At 5’10, 181, he has cornerback size, but projects as a safety at the next level. Despite the size, Johnson is still one of the 10 or 15 best safety recruits in the country.

He has good, but not exceptional speed. What he does have, however, is a lot of quickness -- both in his decision-making and with his feet.

Johnson sees the field extremely well, and is able to recognize plays developing very early. He combines this with a good first step, and drives on the football for interceptions, pass deflections or big hits.

He also shows good body control when going up for balls, and is a mature athlete.

Johnson plays with excellent physicality and loves to deliver the big hit, but he does need to improve his tackling technique and work on wrapping up.

He may not have unlimited, next-level type potential, but he could have a very productive college career and offer versatility to whichever school he picks. I think Johnson could thrive in a zone-based system that will allow him to freelance a bit and take advantage of his instincts.
