The recruitment of Newton (Texas) cornerback Roney Elam will come to a conclusion on Friday as he announces his college choice.
Four-star CB Roney Elam to pick between LSU, Texas, Texas A&M
Which school will land the rangy cover corner?

Though there isn’t expected to be a ceremony -- the typical hat choice won’t be a part of Elam’s announcement -- the current plan is for him to tweet out his choice between finalists LSU, Texas, and Texas A&M.
Elam also holds offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Baylor, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas Tech, among others, but his recent visits to Baton Rouge and College Station suggest that he will pick from those two schools.
In the 247Sports Crystal Ball projections, Texas A&M has a robust lead over LSU at 56 percent to 24 percent, with Texas trailing at 12 percent. The Aggies trended hard during June for Elam, but there have been several recent predictions for the Tigers, so Les Miles and company aren’t completely out of this recruitment.
The 6’3, 170-pounder is rated as a consensus four-star prospect, the No. 27 cornerback nationally, the No. 41 player in Texas, and the No. 287 player overall in the 247Sports Composite rankings.
