The LSU Tigers are off to a strong start on the offensive side of the ball in the 2016 class after adding a big pledge from Mesquite (Texas) West Mesquite wide receiver Dee Anderson on Thursday:
Four-star 2016 WR Dee Anderson commits to the LSU Tigers
The big wide receiver is the third 2016 pledge for the Tigers.

I'm officially a LSU commit!!

Now the third pledge in the 2016 class, Anderson joins Crawfordville (Fla.) Wakulla dual-threat quarterback Feleipe Franks and Donaldsonville (La.) wide receiver Stephen Sullivan. All three are consensus four-star prospects.
A 6’4, 177-pounder, Anderson earned his offer from LSU on July 24 after a strong performance at camp. And his commitment was hardly a surprise, as all four predictions in the 247Sports Crystal Ball were for the Tigers.
He also held offers from Boise State, Bowling Green, Indiana, Louisiana-Lafayette, SMU, Tennessee, UCLA, Wake Forest, and Washington.
In the 247Sports Composite rankings, Anderson is considered the No. 119 prospect nationally, the No. 26 wide receiver overall, and the No. 13 player in the state of Texas.
A long, lanky prospect who may need some time in college to grow into his frame, Anderson doesn’t have much in the way of a highlight reel currently, but he is a fluid athlete who can cover a tremendous amount ground with each stride. He also shows the ability to juke defenders at the line of scrimmage to beat press coverage and should become a difficult player for defenders to control early in routes once he makes the expected strength gains.
And when he sticks his foot in the ground to explode, he has the short-area quickness to separate from defenders, an attribute that should make him an effective deep threat once he gets to college. His height, meanwhile, should allow him to consistently win jump balls in the end zone. In other words, don’t be surprised if Anderson racks up touchdowns while wearing the purple and gold of the Tigers.
