No. 1 CB Iman Marshall commits to USC on National Signing Day
The elite defensive back finalized his choice on Wednesday.

Florida State, LSU, Notre Dame, Michigan, UCLA and USC were listed as his finalists, but the Trojans were by far the favorite.
“‘Biggie’ Marshall has visited USC at least 10 times in the last two years,” says Bud Elliott. “I don’t believe schools like Florida State, Michigan, LSU and others have a real shot.”
USC will finish with the country's No. 2 class, coming very close to No. 1. For much more on the Trojans, visit Conquest Chronicles.
Marshall is a 6’1, 190-pound defensive back with a reported 40-yard dash time of 4.5 seconds. During his senior season at Long Beach Poly High School in California, Marshall played on both sides of the ball and contributed as a receiver and returner in addition to his time as a cornerback, racking up eight touchdown receptions.
He took official visits to LSU, Michigan and Florida State in January and was scheduled to visit Oregon on Friday, but canceled the visit.
In his scouting report of Marshall, Derrell Warren says the cornerback is an attractive prospect because he has the size and frame to be a press cornerback, but the athleticism and fluidity to be successful in other coverages as well:
“At first glance, one would assume that Marshall to be strictly a press-corner. However, his quick feet and fluid hips allow him to thrive in off-man situations as well. Marshall carries very good reactive quickness. He’s able to recognize routes, transition cleanly out of backpedal and drive on routes just as a receiver comes out of their stem. His lateral suddenness allows to him to stay attached to pass catchers and not get beaten at the break point of routes.”
