Blue chip DaMarkus Lodge commits to Ole Miss on Signing Day
The four-star wide receiver announced Wednesday afternoon.

Lodge's decision came down to Ole Miss, Texas A&M and Texas. The Rebels had been considered the slight favorites, in part due to the Longhorns failing to sway Kyler Murray, Lodge's high school quarterback, away from the Aggies. Also, Ole Miss made him this cake.

In addition to those three schools, Lodge held offers from LSU, USC, Alabama, Notre Dame and many more. He used his four official visits to go to Ole Miss, A&M, LSU and USC.
Lodge finished with 63 receptions for 1,218 yards and 25 touchdowns in 2015, and he rushed for 127 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries. He finished his high school career with 47 total touchdowns in two seasons as a featured player. He was named First-Team All-USA by USA Today, and he was selected to the 2015 Under Armour All-America Game. He was also invited to Nike’s “The Opening” showcase. A native of Cedar Hill, Texas, he stands at 6’2.5, 190 pounds.
Here’s what SB Nation’s Wescott Eberts had to say about Lodge in his scouting report:
”After the catch, he’s not a dynamic prospect, but he can pick up extra yardage because of his size and above-average lateral quickness for his size. Strong hands and ball skills ensure that he comes down with the football when he has a chance
“Having fulfilled his enormous potential as a junior, Lodge projects as a big-play receiver in college because of his ability to get open deep, as well as a red-zone threat because of his ability to attack the football at its highest point.”
