Four-star outside linebacker Emmett Rice has over a year until he signs with a school, but in February he committed to Florida State after the Seminoles offered.
Emmett Rice discusses commitment to Florida State, still being recruited by other schools
Rice is solid with FSU, but still has other schools after him.
“Florida State, that’s always been my dream school,” Rice said. “It’s always been Florida, Florida State and UM. I’ve always said, whichever one offered first, I was going to commit. Florida State offered first, and then I went to the junior day this past weekend, and it was the best choice.”
FSU needs linebacker recruits in 2016, so Rice is a good pickup for them, but that doesn’t mean other schools are laying off their recruiting efforts. Alabama, Florida and Miami are still recruiting him, and his whole team is taking a bus tour that will allow him to visit Florida and Miami, along with FSU. However, Rice said he is solid with the Seminoles and he is also trying to recruit some fellow South Florida players to join him in Tallahassee.
Rice is ranked as the 27th-best player in Florida and the 18th-best outside linebacker in the 2016 class, according to the 247Sports Composite ratings.
