SB Nation caught up with three-star wide receiver Keyshawn Young at the Nike camp in South Florida Saturday, and while he’s still in the midst of the recruiting process, there are two schools that have caught his eye.
Keyshawn ‘Pie’ Young discusses Alabama and Florida State recruiting
Those are his top two choices right now, though he is still planning visits.
While he claims “everything is up in the air,” Young said he likes Alabama and Florida State, and the coach he has the best relationship with is Alabama assistant Mario Cristobal, who texts him every morning. Right now, the Crimson Tide and the Seminoles would be his top two, in that order. He plans on visiting both schools this spring, but is also looking at other schools to visit, including West Virginia and Georgia.
At 5’11, most schools like Young as a wide receiver, but he also has the potential to play cornerback, and that’s where Miami sees him. But would he think about playing corner in college? “Nah,” he said.
Young, a product of Miami, is currently ranked as the 62nd best wide receiver in the 2016 class and the 50th best player in Florida, according to the 247Sports Composite ratings.
