Three-star defensive end Jachai Polite was at Nike’s The Opening Orlando regional Sunday, hoping to earn a trip to the main event in Oregon. He’s currently holds offers from a number of non-Power 5 Florida schools, and North Carolina and Iowa State, but two schools that have offered stand out to him.
NC State, West Virginia stand out to 2016 recruit Jachai Polite
He’s hearing from some Florida schools, as well.
“NC State, they won eight games and are competing real tough in the ACC, and West Virginia, they give a lot of people problems,” he said.
Polite is also hearing from Florida State and Miami, where he hopes to earn offers from. He was at both junior days, and while at FSU, he talked to head coach Jimbo Fisher and assistant coach Rick Trickett about where he stands, and he was told to keep working, as the Seminoles only have a select number of scholarships to give out.
Polite said “position coaches, (a school’s) history (and) their past” will all be factors in where he eventually commits. Right now, he is rated as the 39th best strongside defensive end in the class of 2016 and the 104th best player in Florida, according to the 247Sports Composite ratings.
