Even though he lives about 3,000 miles away, three-star athlete Darrian Felix grew up an Oregon fan. Now he’s hoping to turn a solid regional camp performance into a visit to Oregon and The Opening.
3-star all-purpose back Darrian Felix is hoping for Oregon, Clemson offers
A Florida native, he grew up cheering for the Ducks.
Why does Felix love Oregon?
“It’s Oregon,” Felix said. “I want to leave out of state, I just like Oregon -- the offense, the style that they play.”
However, Felix, from Fort Myers, Fla., does not yet have an Oregon offer. He would like to play receiver, but schools are recruiting him as both a receiver and a running back.
As of now, Felix is hearing a lot from Miami, North Carolina, Kentucky, Louisville and Rutgers. He said he has the best relationships with Miami and Louisville. He also would like offers from Auburn and Clemson, as he modeled his game after former Clemson star Sammy Watkins growing up.
At 5’11, Felix is a smaller, speedy receiver. He’s rated as the 13th-best all-purpose back in the class of 2017, according to the 247Sports composite ratings.
